Jody,
I was out of town myself for a while. I have a little place about 2 hours north of my home. A friend of mine lives next door to my place and we spend some long weekends watching movies, having long discussions and generally relaxing. I bought the land from my friend a couple of years ago and put up a "women's retreat" I often take other friends with me. My place is always open to any of my friends who may need a place to "get away".

Hi, Jody. I owe you a longer note, but I've been having some hand problems. Hope to catch up with you againin the near future. One of the things I miss most is not being able to in-line skate - MS has unbalanced me to the point that I can't skate anymore. My husband has threatened to outfit like the Michelin tire guy and see what happens. This may just be his revenge since I used to make fun of his attempts to in-line skate by claiming his skate moves resembled Joe Cocker's dance moves...
Jody,
I met Mr Burke at an author reading. He is so like his main character. Have you by any chance, read his daughter's novels ? I haven't and I've not talked to anyone who has. I just wonder if she is as talented as her dad.
I do agree with you, nobody writes Louisiana like Burke :>))
Jody,
Just joined this site. Don't see a lot of activity but.....
I see that you are a fan of James Lee Burke. I love his novels....one of the greatest mystery writers !
