Favorite Books:: The Debt to Pleasure by John Lanchester; The Book of Love by Nicole Krauss; Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov; Memoir from Antproof Case by Mark Helprin; Anil's Ghost by Michael Ondaatje; Poison by Kathryn Harrison; A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry; Shelter by Jayne Anne Phillips; Melmoth the Wander by Charles Robert Maturin; The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch....just to name a few.

Favorite Genres: fiction - particularly with a psychological twist or about other cultures. And, southern lit, non-fiction about animal behavior, literary fiction, and gothic novels (the crusty old stuff, like The Woman in White and The Monk)

In my spare time, if I'm not reading, I'm:: playing with my dogs; watching movies; hanging out with friends (and their dogs); preparing food and eating out (and just thinking about food in general); inventing mixed drinks and new ways to accessorize popcorn; sitting in front of a computer way, way too much (both work and play.) Oh yeah, and lately I collect tikis.

Umm, have an infamous muffler collection. (Cold neck, warm heart?)

Likes: animals, ethnic food, good cheeses, books, independent films, chocolate, olive oil, clever people, ice kacang, irony, metalwork, necco wafers.

Dislikes: people who aren't sarcastic (what's up with that), bad food, reality tv, malted milk balls, malls, mondo SUVs, people who drive mondo SUVs.

Since she groans ala Lurch from the Adams Family this seems about right. And the mix of Greyhound and ? does seem to add up to a Lurcher.
