Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. My debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com, and I am writing because I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your thoughts on Amazon.com (or some of the other book review sites). If you're interested, I'd be more than willing to send you an e-book version by e-mail. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

On my webpage you will find information on the Harris Mystery as well as links to other websites that are either a part of the Harris Mystery, or participants in the Harris Mystery Club on myspace. If it has been a while since you sunk your teeth into a delicious mystery that made your mind race, then welcome to the Harris Mystery. The difference between the Harris Mystery and other mysteries that you read about every day is that the Harris Mystery is REAL. Enjoy.

Ann,
I see you are a Michael Malone fan ? I too like his mysteries. I had never heard of him till I went to a book signing of Richard Russo's. Russo recommended his books. I was not disappointed :>)

Hi - I wanted to say hi and thanks for participating. I'm behind but will try to catch up with you soon.

Loved Short History by Pearson!

BTW, one of our dogs is named Burke and one of our cats is Alafair...

Hi, Jeannie. Apologies, but I've been reading and traveling and not tending to my cyberlife. I have indeed read Alafair Burke's books. Her third book introduces what I presume to be is a second protaganist, out of New York. Her first two books, featuring an Oregon attorney, were OK -- good enough for me to try Book 3, which actually was much better. NYC affords a richer tapestry and landscape for a crime, I think. But she doesn't yet have her father's power or range, if one can apply those descriptors to writing (can you tell I watched a bit of "American Idol" last night? Enjoy the day -- one day closer to spring!

Hi. Jeannie. Thanks for taking the time to write. JL Burke is not only my favorite mystery writer; he's my favorite American novelist. I love the texture he provides; I can taste, feel and sense the bayou. No other writer is as vivid in describing the environment. He's a bit dark though:)
